My tooth is not too bad today - a bit achey. I did go running this morning though I would have loved to stay in bed. I listened in vain for the rain or galeforce winds outside our bedroom window but I heard nothing. Damn - I'll have to get up, no excuse. I'm finding it a real struggle to get out of the bed early in the mornings - more than usual anyway. I didn't take my ipod with me this morning as I wasn't sure if it would start raining and I didn't want to spend the entire session worrying about it getting wet. It was certainly wet outside and did start lightly spitting during my session but nothing to the extent of last week when I got soaked. After a slow 10min warmup and some strides, I ran 8 x 1min intervals at 75-80% with 45sec standing rest intervals. By the 4th interval I realised that either I should eat before doing hard intervals or I was going out too fast - methinks its a bit of both! Obviously black coffee is not adequate sustenance. Normally I wouldn't even be doing intervals in the early hours of the morning (ie the sun hasn't even risen) but work commitments mean that it is the only time I have available at the moment. Hopefully from next week I can return to Geoff Moore's group on Mondays and (gasp) Thursdays.Even though I shouldn't, I have had a couple of Fantales at work today - I needed something sweet and chocolatey tasting. I must resist, I must resist.......

Sorry that you've still got tooth pain, CJ, but at least the worst is over...I still dread the dentist more than anyone! I think you're entitled to a few sweets after all that pain!

The flick? Well, it's called "The Sea Inside".... true story about a Spaniard who fought for over 30 years for the right to end his life with dignity...not sure that it's what I should be seeing right now.....thinking about ending life when it's just a few days out from the GC marathon!

Yum fantails, I could just do with one of those right now. Good thing I'm at home and there's no chocolate in the house!

I know what you mean about getting up in the dark, it's really hard at the moment, and I live in Sydney. I'd be temtped to stay in bed all day if I lived in Canberra judging by my performance in Orange at the weekend!

Hope you tooth feels better soon.. I'm with LL I hate the dentist.. I'd much prefer an intervals session in the park.. never thought I'd say that!

You did extremely well CJ going out so early in this weather.
I'd blame the intensity, not the coffee though (if it was reasonable coffee!).

Don't feel guilty about the fantale from a sweet chocolately thing, but maybe not ideal for the tooth . . .

Hi from Ireland CJ
Congratulations on a great result at the Terry Fox. In spite of toothache you did really really well. Hope the tooth has settled - you have my sympathy - been there, done that. I have decided the Irish cannot make good coffee - it's either too weak, bitter or very bubbly fluffy froth on cappuccinos - not to be recommended. However the pubs - now that's a different story! Good luck with the training.
