Grumpy bum

Everything irritated me yesterday – work, the real estate agency that we are renting the icebox from, family, traffic, the weather, the way the newspaper was folded, the company we are getting a quote for cedar blinds (they wanted to change the carefully planned appointment I had set up several weeks before…grrrr), you get the picture. It was not a good day. So it was probably a very wise decision not to inflict myself on anyone at yesterday evening’s run session.

Today there are traces of irritation but not as bad as yesterday. I’m tired – that half marathon really took it out of me, more than I would admit. But I did get up this morning and run my hill repeats like the obedient little automaton that I am. There was a sense of déjà vu as I ran up and down the hill – whether it was memories of Saturday’s run or last week’s hill repeats I’m not sure – its all starting to blend into one! Though there was no Cindy Lauper this morning; instead it was Foo Fighters, Offspring, Korn and Green Day (suited my mood really!).

Stats:
Session: hill repeats x 12
Distance: 10km
Time: 60.12mins
AHR: 156; MHR: 224

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

Hehe - I get that way every time I'm in Canberra ;-) Sorry couldn't resist!

Sounds like a tough session on the back of a half marathon - great stuff CJ.

Great post CJ. I am amazed your did hill repeats just a few days after such a tough half marathon. I think being irritable is very understantable in the circumstances. I loved that quote you provided, too. It's very poignant considering some of the personal issues I am dealing with at present.
