After several days of feeling awful with swollen oozy knee I woke up feeling human again this morning. I was allowed to run today – I did have my doctor’s blessing, so damn it, come hell or high water I was going to give it a go. I was well aware that the run may not go to plan so I stuck to a route that was close to home so if need be, I could just hobble back home.
However, I needn’t have worried – all went to plan. Admittedly it was slow – I think my first km was about 6.20min/km (with no hill in sight – it was dead flat!). However speed was not the issue today – I was just testing the waters, so to speak. So I plodded around Scullin and Page for 10km and finished in a respectable time of just over 57min (I think that was the time it took me to run 10km in my first ever fun run about 10 years ago!)
And since the run the knee has been fine. Yay! I’m baaaack!

Good to hear CJ. So, did you party like its 1999 :-)
Yep, great to see. It seems that every time we return to running after a lay off it is as if all our Christmases have come at once.
I knew it would take more than a little scratch to hold CJ down!
Good news. And lets hope you manage to stay on your feet in future.
Welcome back CJ ;-)
For the ACT 10,000m Champion, that is soooooooo slow!
Good to hear your back on the road again.
