It's a similar principle to doing your crunches on a swiss ball versus doing them on the flat - you're actually recruiting a wider range of muscle fibres to do the work than you would do if you were running on the road.<BR/><BR/>The beauty of this for road running is that as your muscles become fatigued, you're actually able to recruit those extra fibres you've been training in grass running.
